From 2013 - 2017, in the waning era of the feminist blogosphere, Katherine began posting on I Am Begging My Mother Not to Read This Blog. It was never intended to go viral. It quickly did.
Since then, her words have been published in the Washington Post, Upworthy, the Huffington Post, American Theatre Magazine, and the Sondheim Review, among many others. Katherine appeared on local affiliates of National Public Radio, had one of her articles retweeted by the United Nations Global Council on Women, and worked for several years as a contributor at MTV Style, blogging about the intersection between fashion and feminism. I Am Begging My Mother Not To Read This Blog was viewed 4.5 million times between 2013 and 2017.
Her satirical women’s fashion magazine ladypockets also went viral three days after its publication in 2014, attracting attention from press outlets including Vanessa Friedman of the New York Times, who begrudgingly called it “very funny.”
The New York Times published her writing as part of their "First Crush" series. You can read it here.
